Transport to Medical Appointments

If you have difficulty in getting to a medical appointment we have a group of about 60 volunteer Drivers who can collect you from your home, take you to local GP surgeries, or to hospitals and clinics throughout the Poole to Southampton area for your appointment and bring you back.

Our drivers are fully insured and DBS checked and all carry photo ID badges.

The service is free, but many of our clients kindly give us a donation to support the charity's work.

Our transport is provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars. We can accommodate folding wheelchairs and walking frames. Please let us know when you book so that we can allocate a driver who has a suitable sized car. A parent or an appropriate adult must accompany children. Anyone living with dementia or needing more than just a steadying hand should also be accompanied by another adult who can assist them to and from the car and inside the hospital or clinic.

Call our Help Line 01590 681 500 and select option 1 to book this service. It helps if you give us plenty of advance notice – at least a week, if possible. Our phone lines are not permanently manned, but you can leave a message at any time.
