SWAG Lunch Club and Community Cafe
SWAG Lunch Club and Community Café are village social events run by teams of volunteers. The weekly Café is open to everybody, but if you want to join the fortnightly Lunch Club, which is for over 65s, you will need to contact the organisers in advance.
Community Cafe
Our Community Café is held every Tuesday morning in St. Luke’s Church Rooms from 10:30. On the second Tuesdays of the month during winter, soup and sandwiches are also served at midday.
Everyone is welcome and it is a lovely opportunity to meet and make friends, share ideas and find out more about our village. There is no charge, but donations are always welcome.
Lunch Club
Lunch Club provides hot and nourishing home-cooked meals for club members, in a convivial atmosphere. The club meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Church Rooms. The meal is served at 12 noon but most members arrive a bit earlier for chat and companionship. Lunch is £5 for a two-course meal with tea or coffee.
Anyone over 65 living alone in Sway can join the lunch club. If you would like to join the club or if you know anyone who might enjoy being a member, please let us know at the contacts below. We will ask whether you have any special dietary requirements or transport needs.
Lunch Club holds a Christmas Party for members on the first Wednesday of December - a full turkey lunch with all the trimmings, wine, music and gifts - a truly fun way to end the year. There is no club lunch on the third Wednesday of December.
SWAG volunteer drivers can provide transport to the Club for club members with mobility restrictions or transport difficulties, by pre-arrangement with the Lunch Club organisers.
